What we keep, and how to delete it
HiveBoard is made by Zeinab H. Fard. This page is about this website. The program itself is covered in the last paragraph: it sends us nothing.
What the download form keeps
- Your email address, your institution, and your name if you gave one.
- Whether news emails are on for you, and when and how that was last set.
- When you filled in the form, and which files you downloaded and when.
- Whether the link we emailed was opened, which tells us the address is read by its owner.
What it is for
- To give you the download link, on screen and by email.
- To know how many people, at which institutions, use HiveBoard. That is what we report when we write about it.
- To write to you now and then with HiveBoard news: new versions and fixes.
We do not sell it, share it, or use it for anything else.
News emails
They are on when you register, unless you untick the box on the form, which says so. They are about HiveBoard and nothing else. Every message, the first one included, has a link that stops them, and so does your download page: it opens a page with one button. Once stopped they stay stopped, also if you register again; only you can turn them back on, from the same link.
What this site does not do
- No cookies, no analytics, no scripts from other companies.
- We do not store your IP address. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, handles requests as any web host does.
Where it is, and for how long
In a database at Cloudflare, until you delete it. A download link stops working after 7 days; the record of who registered stays.
Deleting it
Every email we send has a delete the record link, and so does your download page. It removes your name, address and institution and cancels your links, at once. The count of downloads stays, with nothing in it that says who.
The program
HiveBoard runs on your own computer and talks to the servers you add, and to nobody else. It has no account with us and sends us nothing: not your servers, not your jobs, not that you are running it.
